Former US President of Catapult Sports Joins the Board of Smart Textiles Company
Chicago, US – 25th June 2018 – In a further commitment to establishing themselves in the US market, KYMIRA Sport, the leading infrared performance and recovery sportswear brand has added experienced sports technology executive Brian Kopp to their board as a Non-Executive Director.
Kopp has held executive positions at leading sports technology companies such as Catapult Sports and STATS LLC and in 2016 was named to Sports Business Journal’s prestigious Forty Under 40 class. In 2017, Kopp founded Stretch 4 Advisory to provide strategic business services to a variety of sports technology, data and analytics companies. He joins the KYMIRA Sport team after the company has successfully established themselves in their domestic UK market, boasting customers that vary from international rugby teams, through to Olympic gold medallists.
Having first encountered KYMIRA Sport during the 2017 Sports Tank event in New York, Kopp said of his recent appointment to their board “I am always looking to get involved with innovative companies who are using technology to help athletes at all levels. The products that KYMIRA Sport have already brought to market are incredible and the future technology development road map will take smart textiles in sports to a whole new level. The potential impact of their products for teams and individual athletes will be a game changer for years to come”.
Tim Brownstone, KYMIRA Sport’s founder and CEO, said of Kopp “Brian is held in the highest regard by collegiate and professional sports teams and we are really excited to be working alongside him.” Brownstone added that the primary focus for KYMIRA Sport will be to introduce their FDA regulated sportswear into US college and professional sport programs to increase athlete availability, reduce injury occurrence and accelerate recovery. “In recent years, athlete wellbeing has become increasingly important and relevant from the professional level down to every day athletes,” said Brownstone. “Our products can integrate seamlessly into athletic programs to deliver huge benefits with zero disruption to the athlete or coaching staff’s routine”.

About KYMIRA
KYMIRA was founded was founded by Tim Brownstone during his final year (2013) at the University of Reading. The primary reason for starting KYMIRA was to bring to market a technology the founder had been researching and developing for over a year. The brand KYMIRA Sport is primarily focused at performance and recovery enhancing apparel for elite athletes and the ‘weekend warrior’ alike. These products were developed in partnership with a Californian technology company which we still work closely with today to further our research aims and exposure on a global scale. Within the first 3 months of our KYMIRA® Sport products being available on the global market, direct sales were coming from Australasia, the Middle East, Mainland Europe, the UK and the US, all of which were achieved through organic growth (word of mouth).
